paris, paris, paris. home of my favourite chanel, herve ledger and louis vuitton.
boy do i loooooooooove :)
BUT, the trip wasn't all about nonstop shopping (no, really).
having said that, our first stop (just hours after we touched down) was the famous champs elysees louis vuitton store. we simply couldnt help it.

after which, we spent some time exploring the streets of paris (the architecture is amazing, i love how its so easy to walk for long periods simply because of the amazing whether and how much there is to see.)

before we settled down on a rooftop cafe in printtemps for our very first lunch in paris.

that night was also the U2 concert. U2 was simply - amazing. the stage was just mindblowing. i was hoping for snow patrol to open for them (like they did for the rest of their tour), but the kaiser chiefs opened them instead. oh well.

still, it was nothing like a concert singapore would be able to pull off, plus, you know how theres always something more exciting about watching live concerts overseas.
this particular one was held open air in a football stadium, every single seat filled. thats 80,000 people for you. all there to watch U2.

and because we were there early, we brought along the yummiest smoked salmon & chicken salad in attempt to have our version of a concert picnic.

heehee - worked out pretty damn well, i'd say.
on our second day there, because shops in paris close on sundays, it was naturally deemed our sightseeing day. we started off the morning fooling around our hotel room taking polaroids (haha, girls.)

before heading out to start our morning at montmartre. on the way there, we were distracted by the little artsy stores (where my cousin bought a painting),

and took photos with the pretty walls of.. art?

the montmartre is a 130 metre high hill where the famous saint pierre de montmarte church is located

around it, artists/painters set up little stalls to sell their artworks

its actually a really nice artsy environment.
after spending some time taking it all in, we settled into one of the many typically french restaurants for a taste of the typical french lunch.

for starters: escargots and foie gras

followed by french onion soup (one of my favourites) and red wine

finishing it off with our main course : duck confit de canard on roasted potatos

mmmmmmm. i sure as hell am gonna miss the french food.
after spending 3 hours at lunch, taking our time with the courses and catching up over the red wine, we headed back for a short nap (after lunch effect) and to change into something more comfy before we were once again off to the louve museum (you know, where the da vinci code was shot)

and later on to the eiffel tower, where we spent the rest of our sunday evening watching the sunset and enjoying the cool night breeze by the river.
in no time, our view went from this....

to this...

they say paris is one of the most romantic cities in the world. once the sun goes down and the lights come on, i can see why.

everything was just so, so beautiful. with the perfect cool windy breeze to match.
one of my favourite nights there :)
in contrast, the next day was our hardcore shopping day. we started off at (my now favourite street), rue cambon, where the original chanel store is located, along with herve ledger across the road :) ahhhh, i couldnt have felt more in heaven.

seven hours of shopping later, we were ready to take a break at pierre herme for a taste of the best macaroons in the world (no kidding).

coming from someone who usually hates macaroons, pierre herme macaroons are trulyy to die for. apparently, my sisters friend cried eating them. heehee, im glad im not that extreme :) but still.
our last day in paris was the france bastille day (kind of like, national day for them) so, we decided we'd wake up early to catch a glimpse of the parade.

but the real fun started on our walk to lunch. you know how we love taking photos anywhere ;)

hahaha put three girls alone on a holiday --> this is what you get :)

met up for lunch with some of my cousins friends :)

before we had to rush to the airport to catch our flight to barcelona.
heading out to lunch in barcelona now, more updates on barcelona before i leave to madrid on monday! :) loveee!
