A zoo trip we will go! :D

After A WHOLE LOT of procrastinating and postponing, Rachel and I finally went to the zoo!!!! X) Thanks to Suren and his uncle, we were guests. =P Really! We had stickers that said so. Haha. So the 4 of us - Rachel, Suren, Joel and me - we had a great fun day at the zoo, one of my favourite places in the world! Now that I'm back, I miss it already!

Outside Ben & Jerry's:

The very first animals we saw were Cotton Top Tamarins!:

They were adorable. And then it was on to the squawking loud parrots!:

The ugly Proboscis monkey:

Honestly, do their dicks always have to be out?! =X Moving on to the otters - I never ever get sick of watching them! =D:

I love it how they would come up in the front and start crying out to you. I don't know why they do that! But it's so endearing that I had to take a video!:

LOL!!! Can somebody tell me why they're so, so flippin' adorable?! If only I could bring one home as a pet! Haha. For now, I make do with this!!:

Which sane person would not visit the tigers at the Tiger Trek when visiting the zoo? =):

Tiger loves Breadtalk, so Suren fed it Breadtalk. LOL:

The famous white tigers which made international headlines for mauling a man to death:

LOL, PEEING. In the WATER, hahaha:

I think Mummy Hippo just had a new arrival! Awww, this is so SWEET!:

Both of them were sleeping, but the mother has got the baby's back even in slumber. I love animals and their instincts. =) We saw a lizard of some sort crossing the road, and I freaked out because it belonged to the LIZARD family and it was HUGE! Can you spot it in the grass? *sHuDdErS*:

We sat in on the animal shows. They separated it into 2 parts now, sort of. Carlos the sealion is in the "Splash!" show now and they have a new one called "Saving the Rainforest" or something like that. We arrived like, half an hour early and Suren and Joel went to "explore" while Rachel and I sat in the front row to reserve the seats. The guys ended up going on free elephant rides. Rachel and I didn't manage to. =( I was looking forward to overcoming my slight fear of elephants actually. And I know we should have gone with the dudes because the show was crappy and we sat in the front for nothing. =.= Me and Rachel waiting for the crappy show to start:

I've never seen white peacocks in my entire life, it was my first time! They are SO gorgeous!!:

I reckon they look more beautiful than the normal blue-green ones. Love them!

Meet Mr Mumbler - we didn't know what the hell he was narrating:

A picture with the cast and their boa constrictor after the show. =):

I was looking forward to the "Splash!" show because I was excited to see Carlos! =D Before the show started, we entertained ourselves by watching penguins shitting in the water.... It looked like egg whites. =.= *gAgS*:

Manatee!:

Caretaker feeding the manatees:

And finally, Carlos! =D:

Thanks to me and Joel, Rachel got picked to throw a Frisbee to Carlos just because we grabbed her hands and put it in the air. *sNiCkErS*:

Carlos waiting VERY attentively for his Frisbee!:

And he caught it!!!:

The rest of the pictures depict another Frisbee thrown by another guy, but obviously he kept on missing Carlos and poor Carlos had to wait for it several times before he finally got it!:

See, the Frisbee fell into the water and Carlos still went after it!:

We all got kisses from dear Carlos after the show. =) Every single time I go to the zoo, I get a kiss. Carlos makes me grin as wide as the universe, he's so adorable:

We were the last few people to get kisses, and Carlos' caretaker Julie was actually panicking because she ran out of fish. It sounded like pure panic in her voice when she kept on saying, "I've got no more fish already!!!" and tried her best to distract Carlos after every kiss. It's quite obvious that these animals get food rewards and when food runs out, I wonder if they'd throw a fit? I wonder if that's why Julie was so panicky? I wonder if Carlos might bite or something? Either way it was quite alarming. It made me a little guilty too, that all Carlos does is put on show after show and we're the same old people asking for kisses. =/

My friends wanted to check out the elephant show after that even though I wasn't very keen. I'd seen it tons of times already, and I knew everything that was gonna happen. So I just stood around eating a strawberry Cornetto ice-cream. =P But the elephants were cute nonetheless. I remember Komali, I think he's quite the resident elephant. Haha.

Who says they are big AND clumsy?!:

This random baby girl was more interested in looking back at us than at the elephants in the front. LOL:

Suren and Joel concentrating HARD on the show, haha:

I caught a shot of this random green-and-yellow spider on the wood... It was on a baby pram, then on Rachel (eeww!) and then on the wood. Gross:

A corner to remember Ah Meng:

Suren's uncle was Ah Meng's caretaker for 37 long years. Can you imagine how gutted he must have felt when Ah Meng passed away? SIGH. I guess it's the other orang-utans' turn to continue Ah Meng's legacy. Maybe this baby?:

Cute, right? =)

Suren got caught by a crocodile..... I think he's still at the zoo!:

All of us:

Chimpanzees - they look so black and scary.... and I heard they actually remember you if you ever offend them?!:

Another mother and baby!:

We moved on to the children's zoo after that. They've renovated it and renamed it "KidzWorld". It's all colourful and all the relatively tame animals are there. A horse carriage!:

Meet Belle. =):

Black and yellow millipede!:

I actually Googled and its scientific name is called Apheloria tigana. HEHEHE. See, Google tells you EVERYTHING you need to know! LoL.

Baaaaa:

Okay, THIS is by far the sweeeetest calf I've ever seen, okay?!?!?!!:

It actually came over when we called for it! I swear! Look!!!:

And what's this CREEPY sight doing in a children's zoo?!:

We did some old-folks visiting, hahahaha:

The grandma's wax finger was broken. =S We didn't break it! Actually it's a house they built for kids to learn about common pests. There were fake bed bugs too, and also THIS:

MUAHAHAHA, that's a present for my sister! I know, I'm evil. We were running around like kids ourselves, checking out giant rabbits!:

And cute little chicks in their incubator!:

Ben & Jerry's toppings, yum yum:

Had a stopover at KFC for food before we made our last few rounds to the rest of the enclosures, but most of the animals had been led back inside as the day zoo was closing. =/ Check out the tarantula:

On the rainforest walk?:

The eyes of the mousedeer flamed THREE colours when I took this shot, it's so pretty!:

Bats:

Free-flying butterflies - they land on your finger when you stick it out and stand still! Try it next time!:

Broken wings. =(:

The sloth!:

Lemurs, famous from Madagascar!:

Rachel and Suren were squatting on the floor with my camera for those shots, and then suddenly all of the lemurs decided to jump forwards. Rachel screamed. We thought it was the camera flash that agitated them and we panicked and wanted to run, but turned out it was actually the zoo-keeper coming up behind us with food. -_________-

I forgot the name of this cat, but it looked PISSED because it was pacing fast, back and forth, back and forth:

Zebras:

Sleeping rhino!:

Rhino dung, eurrggghhhh!:

Had some last few moments of fun at the glow-in-the-dark section of the merchandise store:

You know, I've been to the zoo so many times that it feels like home now. I mean, I could totally see myself working there. And I'd love to, if I stayed nearer to the zoo! It's a real pity I'm so far away. =( I love visiting the same old animals to see how they're doing, I love observing my favourite ones. The stinkiest animal I know are the wolves. My GOD, the scent they give off to mark their territory is so choking, it's hard to breathe. Other than that, the rest are bearable. Haha. I've been to the zoo and the Night Safari enough times to know a handful of animals by name, and that's the way I like it. =) I can't wait to go back again! =D
