Michael Jackson tribute @ Zirca
Like the rest of the world, I caught the live streaming of Michael Jackson's memorial service at the Staples Centre on Tuesday:
The last time I bawled my eyes out this much was when my grandfather passed away last August. Luckily I was in the privacy of my own room, so when the casket was wheeled in, I didn't need to worry about someone barging in on me crying like an absolute baby.

Throughout the memorial service, there were parts that made me tear all over again. When Mariah Carey sang I'll Be There, it pulled at my heartstrings. Hard. When Reverend Al Sharpton gave his eulogy - "Wasn't nothin' strange about yo daddy! It's strange what he had to deal with!" TRUELY, TRUELY. When Brooke Shields gave hers, about Michael's favourite song by Charlie Chaplin, Smile:
Smile tho' your heart is aching,
Smile even though it's breaking,
When there are clouds in the sky - you'll get by,
If you smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through - for you
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev'ry trace of sadness,
Altho' a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile - what's the use of crying,
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile
I will always try to remember that song.
People thanking Michael for touching their lives. Me, thanking him for touching MY life. Paris Jackson's simple words cut through the media bullshit like a knife.

"Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine. And I just want to say that I love him so much."
She just left me transfixed in front of my computer screen. Part of it was seeing Paris Jackson up-close for the first time, but for the most part, her grief and sincerity was so raw that it hurt to even look. I thought my heart was gonna split down the middle. My heart goes out to MJ's kids. You tell them, Paris. Tell the fucking media. xx
When the memorial ended, it seemed like the goodbye wasn't long enough. I believed I heard people yelling for Michael to "come back". How I wished that too, so much. All I can say is, "Michael... You healed the world the best way you knew how. I'll see you in Heaven. XOXOOXXOOXXOXOXXXX"
I thought it would be nice to attend a tribute party for Michael Jackson, so the following day, I went for the very first one that was held, that I knew of. Organised by Gold 90FM, it was held at Zirca yesterday night. Thank you Herbert, for inviting me. =) And yes, you might have seen my face (along with Herbert's, haha) when you checked your email, when I popped up on Windows Live Today to say hello to you. HEH.
Rachel brought her cousin Joel from Australia but he was underaged and didn't bring his passport. She didn't wanna leave him so they didn't go in the end even though Herbert managed to get them invites at the last minute. While waiting for confirmation of invites, I was standing outside with the crowd. And the turnout was unexpectedly HUGE:
The queue snaked all the way past the taxi stand. I didn't bother to walk the whole length to check out where it ended. At the entrance, they were selling Michael Jackson's Number Ones CDs:

We were up in the VIP area with the other DJs and many other people I didn't know. Most of them were Herbie's friends. With Mr Young from 98.7FM!:
I used to call in to his late night request shows when I was still in secondary school. LOL.
Singing group Yellow Tinted:

With Cheryl, who was tipsy from all that alcohol she drank BEFORE the party!:

They showed a few music videos on the large screen, and of course the first one had to be Thriller, the full story version:
Somebody's "hand of God"... =.=:

The videos were not in sync with the sound, though. It really made watching them quite a chore. And also, I love MJ and everything... I really do, but different renditions of the same songs over and over again was pure overkill. =/
Herbert's fedora hat, I LOVE!:
And as usual, I stress for the zillionth time, I somehow look funny in fedoras. But I love them a lot, they're so, sooooo stylish. <3
There were the usual MJ impersonations...:

Shadows look okay, but once the lights go on, reality hits you in the face baby. Michael Jackson can never be replaced. NEVER EVER. They ended the party with a video montage of MJ with the song, Gone Too Soon. And then everyone sang to Heal the World. Arms were waving in the air and tears were in my eyes when I sent a silent prayer up to God for Michael, because now he is safe and he is happy.
The party started late, so it ended later than usual. I went to Overeasy with Herbert and Cheryl 'cos Cheryl wanted her mini-burgers but the kitchen was closed and all we could get were nachos. Popped by Butter Factory too, and then down to Zouk. Yes, a lot of club-hopping for one night, isn't it!! Jaclyn was at Zouk, and so was Calvin, and Jessebella, and Geraldin, and Mandy. I saw so many familiar faces! Anyway Jessebella was SO GONE, just look at her!!:
She made out with a girl too, it was so full-on and steamy and all the guys were cheering. But she made me promise not to post up those scandalous pictures, so I won't. =P Haha Jess, I didn't know you were THIS wild! LOL.
I went to Play earlier and then to Zouk again, it was a boring night but still, thank you Candice, for being there. =) And my other friends too... I heard some stuff I didn't wanna hear too much and the night ended bad, and I didn't join Candice and her girl-friends at their house party even though they called me on my mobile phone to make a U-turn while I was on my way back in the cab, but I didn't 'cos I thought I should be back home... It's okay, I bounce back up in my own time. I've learned to blow more bubbles if someone chooses to burst mine. Life is all about blowing these big, huge bubbles anyway, no?
Okayyyy I'm blabbing. Toodles.
*P.S: Did you know that Avril Lavigne's new fragrance is already out in stores?! Yes, Black Star is out, and I'm going to get my hands on one someday, somehow! Watch her Black Star commercial!:
She looks so pretty! The video was shot against a green screen, that's why Avril looks like she's floating in her own outer space. LOL. Watch the making of the Black Star commercial!:
There is a removable studded ring accessory attached to the bottle, so you can wear it on your finger or around your neck on a necklace! Cute. I can't wait to get my hands on one! =)
AND ALSOOOOO, if you love my black lacy dress, it's from Agri's blog shop! There's plenty more where that came from at http://agrivelt.xanga.com/:

Watch out for them when they're up for sale, if they're not already sold out! =P Happy shopping!
